@There are letters as F4U-6 on the box. CORSAIRE
AU-1 that is the type of attacking was called F4U-6 at early time. So, I
thought the kit might be AU-1. But it was F4U-1D with New Zealand Air Force's
decal. I think this kit is good for old one just like MATCHBOX's F4U-4.
Painting direction written on the box, upper side is blue-gray and bottom
side is white. I heard the actual COSAIR was same one that were used in
USA and these were received by New Zealand Air Force since March in 1944.
Therefore I think the correct coloring is " tri-color" as standard
color for US NAVY. While the last stage of WWU, it seems that the well-controlled
Japanese army had remained at around the Solomon islands mainly at Rabaul
and also Bougainville. Therefore these CORSAIRs of Royal New Zealand Air
Force had been active ,till the end of WWU, in supporting for the corps
that against the Japanese army. |
